What is ActiveATE?

ActiveATE is an exercise program that consists of cardio and strength-building workouts. All our workouts are supported by guided videos and have been designed to meet Australia’s Physical Activity Guidelines by our Exercise Physiologists. There’s also ongoing support with motivational tips and advice from the Lite n’ Easy dietitians and well-being advisors to keep you on track to achieving your health goals.

ActiveATE has been designed to cover a range of fitness levels from beginner, to intermediate to advanced. Lite n’ Easy will tailor a program that is right for you based on your current physical activity level and your cardio fitness.

Minimal equipment is required to participate in the ActiveATE program, outside of the Lite n’ Easy resistance bands you will receive with your first Jump Start order. You haven’t ordered Jump Start? That’s okay, the Lite n’ Easy resistance bands can also be purchased through our website with your next order.

How does the Jump Start meal plan work?

Jump start combines 5:2 fasting with our delicious meals

Motivation is key when it comes to sticking with a weight loss program, and nothing is more motivating than seeing results fast! Lite n’ Easy’s popular Jump Start program is a two-week meal plan (each week ordered separately) that has been designed to kick your weight loss into high gear.  It combines 5 days of normal eating (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) with 2 days of fasting.  This helps to increase your weekly calorie deficit to help accelerate your weight loss in those first two weeks.

Each week on Jump Start your meal plan will include 7 Dinners + 7 Lunches & Snacks + 5 Breakfasts & Snacks. Depending on which Jump Start pack you choose, this combination reduces your weekly calorie intake by approximately 600 to 800 calories compared to a normal 7 Day Full Meal Plan and gives your body additional time to burn calories on the fasting days. For optimum results, increase your water intake, exercise and avoid alcohol during this time. To get the maximum benefits of Jump Start, no additional food or calorific beverages should be consumed during the two weeks.

What our dietitians recommend a typical fasting day might look like

  • Morning – Wake up and drink a big glass of water.
  • Morning tea – Continuing drinking water, you might also have herbal tea or black coffee.
  • Lunch – Have your first meal of the day at lunch time. On our 1200 Calorie Winter Meal Plan this might include the Chargrilled Lamb with Greek Salad, Fetta and Creamy Dressing and Peaches & Apricots.
  • Afternoon tea – You could have your Rhubarb & Apple Yoghurt or other snack from lunch at this time to spread out your food.
  • Dinner – Enjoy one of Lite n’ Easy’s delicious dinners, like the Butter Chicken which is filling and satisfying.

What if I’m feeling hungry?

Drink plenty of water while intermittent fasting

It is normal to feel a bit hungrier on days when you are eating less food.  Try to schedule your fasting for days where you have lots of distractions so that you aren’t thinking about food.  You could try reading a book or going for a walk with a friend.  To manage hunger, make sure you are drinking plenty of water, as this will help to keep you full. You can keep things interesting by adding slices of citrus or cucumber to your water, or by consuming other calorie-free beverages such as sparkling water, herbal teas and black coffee.  You can also try spreading out your Lite n’ Easy meals and snacks so that you are eating more frequently throughout the day.

After your initial two weeks on Jump Start, we recommend you switch over to our regular 7-Day Full Meal Plans with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks supplied every day. By doing so, you’ll not only continue to achieve great weight loss results, but you’ll also get the FULL nutrition and health benefits Lite n’ Easy provides. This includes the recommended 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit each day which can help to reduce your risk of suffering many lifestyle diseases later in life.
