At 122 kilos, I suffered from a heart condition, had high blood pressure and regular migraines. But the thing that made me want to lose weight and get my life back was that I felt so uncomfortable, physically.
Before
After
Not having to think about what I was taking to work for lunch each day or eating for dinner when I got home made it super easy. This also eliminated the urge to impulse buy unhealthy food options.
A lot of people may think it's expensive to be on Lite n' Easy each week, but if you consider how much you are spending on take-away food and eating out as well as the stress of organising dinner, I see the value.
Once I committed to the meal plan, I made sure I was active and worked out at least 3 times a week. I joined a local small group training studio and being part of this community inspired me to study as a personal trainer. Now I work in the studio myself after completing my qualifications.
I feel like a new me. I have energy to keep up with the kids and the simple tasks in life are no longer challenging.
Now that I am a healthy weight, all of my previous health problems have been eliminated and I feel great. I have more self confidence and I feel like there is nothing I cannot achieve.
As well as doing my Certificate 4 as a Personal Trainer, I have completed a few 10km and 12km runs and also the 30km coastal trek this year.
Losing weight and gaining my confidence back has made a difference, not just to myself but my family as well. My husband has improved his fitness and my children are more aware of healthy eating habits and the importance of keeping fit and getting outdoors.
I don't think I truly realised how amazing I was going to feel when I set my original goal to lose weight. It's been a whole transformation of mind, body and soul. I only wish I'd done it sooner.
