Last year, the whole family realised we’d slowly put on some Covid kilos, and with summer coming, we wanted to look and feel better. We were all so busy with work, family and friends though, so we needed some help.
I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (POS) which affects hormone levels and makes weight loss difficult. I also have genetically high cholesterol. I saw a dietitian and she gave me a whole lot of recipes to follow. I lost a couple of kilos but also lost my entire Sunday to food shopping and meal prepping.
I was inspired by my mum's incredible results on Lite n' Easy Jump Start, she lost 12 kilos, and the food was all done for her, so I jumped on board too.
I love it for financial and social reasons, plus I am impressed with the variety each week. I work on breakfast radio, so my alarm goes off at 3.45am every day and I just need to grab and go. I am saving time and money, and I know I’m eating something healthy for lunch, with zero meal prep required.
I live an active life so I like to get out in nature on the weekends with my dog. Spending time with family and friends is also important to me. Now I relax and can do all of that with the time I save by ordering my weekday work lunches from Lite n' Easy.
Meal wise I do have my preferences, but I have also tried just about every option on the menu. There are so many things I would have never considered previously, but I have tried them now and love them. Green Thai Chicken Curry, Salmon Pasta, Tortilla Stack, all the microwave lunch pizzas, all of the curries and pasta, to be honest.
The lunch meals are smaller than the dinners, but the cost is also cheaper at $6 – $7 each for a healthy meal. It is tough to even meal prep for that cost, and you most definitely can’t buy lunch at work at that price point!
I am thankful to my Mum who started the trend, got me on board as well as about 8 friends all who were inspired by her success! My sister is currently doing Jump Start now after having two babies and she has lost 8 kilos so far.
