I’m 79 years old, and this year brought one of the hardest chapters of my life. My husband passed away after many years living with Alzheimer’s. For the last 18 months of his life, he was in care. To keep myself company, I got a little dog, Dottie, but she quickly set about destroying my entire veggie garden. That was the moment I decided to give up trying to feed myself from the garden and, after hearing from a friend how good Lite n’ Easy was, I decided to give it a go.
I started with the main meals and a dessert each day, but before long I switched to the My Choice menu. I never felt deprived because the meals are delicious, and I’ve even lost 10 kilos along the way. The convenience has been life-changing, and I love that I never have leftovers going to waste.
Although My Choice is my go-to now, I always keep a few main meals in the freezer for unexpected visitors. Some favourites are the Thai green and red curries, Tasmanian Salmon Pasta, Spaghetti with Creamy Garlic Prawns, Fisherman’s Pie, and plenty of the chicken dishes. When I know friends are coming, I’ll order fresh options, which are always a hit. With so much variety and flavour, I can’t imagine ever switching to anything else.
With no need for grocery shopping, I have more time and energy for the things that bring me joy. Twice a week I go to line dancing, play table tennis, take aqua aerobics, go to gym classes and ride my horse.
I love walking my lovely little dog, Dottie, who was the reason I started my Lite n’ Easy journey in the first place. The convenience of having these meals delivered to my home has truly improved my quality of life. I’m grateful to Lite n’ Easy for making healthy eating so easy and to Dottie for unintentionally leading me to it.
You’re in charge, so feel free to walk away from the table whenever you want.
