I was born in England and grew up in Norway, where I developed a love of the outdoors. Over the years I lived and worked in many parts of the world before retiring at 70, with my final decade spent working in aged care in Adelaide. Having been both a caregiver and now a care receiver, I truly value the importance of community and support at every stage of life.
In recent years I have developed Pulmonary Fibrosis, which means I am now on oxygen 24/7. I still love my food but grew tired of cooking for myself, so when a friend introduced me to Lite n’ Easy, I gave it a try. I was immediately impressed. The My Choice meals are delicious, easy to prepare, and being frozen means there is no waste and plenty of variety to choose from. Everything about the meals and the service is first class.
My aged care package covers most of the cost, which allows me to order every week. I like that the smaller portion sizes help me maintain my weight while still keeping my energy levels up. With the right nutrition and support, I can continue to enjoy the activities that keep me healthy, like bowls on a Wednesday, swimming, and sessions at the gym.
That motto has always been my guiding principle. Even with my oxygen bottle secured to my walker, I make sure to keep moving, stay social, and enjoy life. I love chatting with fellow residents, brewing my own beer and cider, and being part of my community. Staying active gives, me purpose and joy, and with Lite n’ Easy taking care of my meals, I can keep doing the things I love for as long as I can.
