As a long-distance runner and full-time worker, eating well while balancing demanding work hours and a gruelling training schedule is often quite challenging.

Before Lite n’ Easy, I used to spend 4 hours every Sunday afternoon food prepping for the week ahead.

This often consisted of premixing little zip-locked bags full of oats with dates, chia, beetroot powder and cocoa for breakfast, chopping 1kg of carrots for snacks, making my own blend of strawberry yogurt with frozen strawberries and Greek yogurt, and premixing tubs of salad with roasted salmon for lunches. It was hard work!

For ease, I would bring the same set of food to work every day, which did become tedious. While I am a very disciplined person, this level of food prepping after an intense work week was not sustainable.

Then a friend recommended Lite n’ Easy. I was surprised as I always thought Lite n’ Easy was only for people who are dieting or need assistance with weight management. I was sceptical at first, thinking it was just another brand of ‘microwaveable cardboard meals’, but my perception could not be more wrong!

When I learned there were no contracts, I thought I would try the breakfast and lunch option for a week.

I was surprised and impressed by both the variety on offer and the focus on morning and afternoon snacks and breakfast and lunch – eating regular meals is essential for a healthy body. Not only do the meal plans perfectly complement my training needs, but the biggest bonus is also the convenience.

Now that I get my Sunday afternoons back, I spend more time with my husband, winding down, recovering from training and getting ready for the week ahead. Which has improved my overall well-being.

A year later, with Lite n’ Easy, I have not looked back and would never go back to food prepping. Lite n’ Easy has been a total godsend. I highly recommend it to any other time-poor athletes – it takes the guessing game out so you can focus your energy and time on training, recovery and life!

Update from Viv – April 2020

During the COVID-19 situation, I’ve been working from home for the past 4 weeks. I have continued with my Lite n’ Easy for its convenience. It helps me keep up some sort of semblance of a regular routine as I settle into a new way of working and living. Thank you!
